The Selection Process The student athletes judged by coaches as the Most Valuable Player within their respective Division III conferences (10 total) are submitted to the Melberger Award selection committee, along with their individual statistics for final analysis. The selection committee selects the top Award winner from the nominees. The Melberger Award is then presented to the athlete at an award dinner held in his honor at his college or university. Additionally, the Melberger award committee will make a $2,500 scholarship donation to the award-winning athlete's college general scholarship fund.
