The Person Behind the Name

Clifford K. Melberger The Award is named in honor of Clifford K. Melberger. Melberger, who served as captain of the 1960 Bucknell University Lambert Cup football team.

A star running back for the Bucknell University Bisons from 1957 to 1960, Melberger is an active community leader and volunteer. Considered an innovator in the use of imaging systems to service the information management industry, Melberger is President of Diversified Information Technologies, Inc. based in northeast Pennsylvania. Founded in 1981, Diversified has become an internationally known company.

In addition to The Melberger Award, Melberger has established a program at Bucknell University and Wilkes University honoring the Most Valuable Player of the game. Each week, Diversified Information Technologies donates $2,500 to the general scholarship fund of each institution in honor of the game's Most Valuable Player.
